The Summer so far...

I don't ever remember being bored during summer holidays when I was young. So what did I do for those two months? The kids can't seem to find anything fun to do at home, despite having a huge toy room FULL of things to play with, a backyard full of more stuff do play with and a house full of siblings to play with! Why do they think we have to go somewhere or buy something for it to be considered "fun?"

Looking at some of the pics we've taken this summer, I think we HAVE had some fun...

Playing in the fountains at Galt Gardens.

Boredom led to innovation.

We had some impressive hail storms followed by these beautiful rainbows.

We toured the Provincial Legislative Building in Edmonton. (Just Emmy and Sawyer got to participate in this activity. The other kids had a weekend hanging out with Grammy and Grampy.)

Wayne's good friend, Cade Ronald finally decided to settle down. He got married in Edmonton and Wayne was asked to be the Master of Ceremonies at the reception.

There will be more "fun" when we head to Utah for a short holiday, but I hope the kids will remember the fun we have had and not how bored they think they are.

Cardiff Turns 3!!

10 Things I Love about Cardiff.... (in no particular order)
-His "floppy-moppy hair"
-The fact he thinks he's Harry Potter and runs around the house with a chopstick putting spells on all of us.
-When he's not pretending to be Harry Potter, he wets his hair back and becomes Malfoy.
-He can play quietly by himself or have fun with his siblings.
-When we can't quite understand what he is saying, he thinks that if he whispers it in our ears, it will help us understand.
-He is potty-training himself! (No messy diapers in almost 2 weeks...just have to work on the wetting part!)
-He is very athletic and loves basketball, soccer and "hit ball" (baseball).
-Can re-enact the basketball dance scene from High School Musical and wants to be like Zac Efron.
-Goes around the house singing Michael Jackson's "Thriller", but pronounces it "Biller". He even does his own version of the moon walk!
-That we get to share our birthdays (our birthdays are 29 years and 2 days apart!)

Happy Birthday Diffy! WE LOVE YOU!
