SYTYCD

A couple of months ago, Wayne gave me a "Thanks For All You Do" card. That was a pleasant surprise. Inside the card, were tickets to the So You Think You Can Dance (USA) tour in Salt Lake City.

Some quick back story...when I found out they were going to Utah, I expressed my interest in going. Wayne quickly shot it down saying it wasn't worth making a trip down just to see that. If it happened to correspond with some of his music stuff, then we could consider it. I proceeded to remind him that last year he took a 24 hour trip to Seattle to see a concert of 2 of his favorite artists. I also reminded him how his music stuff always dictates when we go to Utah for trips. Needless to say, I was a bit miffed and told him to forget it.

So this was a surprise...although I know he felt guilty in to buying the tickets. In any case, I was happy to get them.

We decided to make the quick weekend trip with only the girls and without the boys. We left them with my parents. We invited Emmy and Azia's good friends to come with us. These girls did everything together for the 4 years we were in Utah. It was fun to see these girls together and able to pick up their friendship where they left off.

As for the SYTYCD performances...A-MAZE-ING!! (I will admit that even though the SYTYCD Canada winner is from our hometown, I still follow the US show more closely). So here are some shots from the show...

Christmas Already?

Our house has been mildly decorated with Christmas decorations since the middle of October. Wayne has been working on a new music video of one of his Christmas songs and needed some family footage. So while I was out, they pulled out the tree, set it up, and put up a few decorations on the front side. Hung the stockings and unpacked the nativity.

Christmas is still 7 weeks away...but it already feels like it at our house!

Here is a sneak peak at the video.

The Flu

2009 will forever be know as the year of the Swine Flu (otherwise known as H1N1). There is much controversy around this virus and the hastily developed vaccine that is being distributed world wide to combat this pandemic!

I don't know if the H1N1 flu has been making the rounds through our family, but I do know that all of the kids, except Azia have had or have flu-like symptoms. Coughs, fevers, headaches. It started with Parker, then moved on to Cardiff, then Sawyer, now Emmy. Everyone is on the mend, but the schools are quite adamant that children do not return to school until they are symptom free.

Wayne has never seen so many VERY sick people in walk-in clinic before and now wears a mask during most visits to avoid being exposed. I went to Walmart to purchase some more Tylenol/Advil for the kids and the shelves were empty!

Flu season hasn't even begun yet....
